Welcome! Whether you have NYSHIP insurance, No-Fault insurance, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, or another health insurance provider, we are here to help you make the most of your coverage for medical massage therapy.

NYSHIP Insurance (Empire Plan)

 

As a New York State employee or retiree, you may have NYSHIP (Empire Plan) coverage. Here’s what you need to know:

 

  • Coverage: NYSHIP covers therapeutic medical massages for pain, injury, and disease.

 

  • Eligible Participants: Employees from NYS Public Schools, SUNY schools/hospitals, Nassau or Suffolk County Police, Port Authority NY, County/Town/Village employees, LIRR/MTA, NYS DMV, State Police/Troopers, NYS Dept of Correction, NYS Dept of Health/Parks, NY Supreme Court, Suffolk County employees, Nassau County employees, Library/Fire Dept, and more.

 

 

  • Process:
  1. Confirm your benefits with NYSHIP.
  2. Have your insurance card, driver’s license, and prescription ready.
  3. Submit the required forms to us, and we will handle the rest.
  4. We will confirm your benefits and schedule your appointment.

 

  • Financial Responsibility: At Hands On HealthCare, we aim to keep you well-informed about your financial responsibilities as we are an out-of-network provider for NYSHIP. An upfront payment might be requested to cover initial costs. We will notify you as soon as we verify your benefits.

No-Fault Insurance

 

For those involved in auto accidents, No-Fault insurance covers medical expenses regardless of who is at fault. Please complete No Fault form (Click Here).

 

Here’s what you need to know:

 

  • Coverage: Includes medical treatments like massage therapy, physical therapy, and other rehabilitative services.

 

  • Required Documentation:
    • Prescription from your healthcare provider with:
      • Provider’s name and address
      • Provider’s NPI number
      • Diagnosis and diagnosis codes
      • Duration not required for No-Fault insurance
    • Accident details and insurance information.

 

  • Process:
  1. File a claim with your No-Fault insurance provider.
  2. Provide necessary documents and accident details.
  3. We will coordinate with your insurance to ensure coverage of your massage therapy sessions.

 

  • Important Note: Under New York’s No-Fault insurance regulations, coverage is limited to one provider per day. If you receive treatment from another provider on the same day, it may not be covered by insurance. In such cases, you would be responsible for any charges incurred for our services. We encourage you to schedule your appointments accordingly to ensure full coverage for your treatments.

Additional Health Insurance Providers

Important Information for All Insurances

 

  • Benefit Confirmation: We will confirm your benefits with your insurance provider before scheduling your appointment.

 

  • Client Responsibility: It is your responsibility to know your benefit status. Specifically:
    • For No-Fault insurance: Ensure your benefits have not expired due to reasons such as an Independent Medical Examination (IME).
    • For NYSHIP insurance: Ensure your benefits have not run out due to reasons such as leaving your job or exceeding the allowed number of sessions.

Affordable Options for Non-Covered Services

 

We understand it can be frustrating if your medical insurance doesn’t cover medical massage. To help, we offer 30-minute sessions for only $60, which is often close to a typical co-payment amount. Our goal is to provide effective treatment quickly, helping you feel better as soon as possible. We call this “pay-in-place pricing,” which is affordable and delivers great results.
